Introducing  9 of 23 angels in my 2015 lineup. My “angels” are created from vintage linens and were just completed. My angels are 7 inch stuffed dolls that are 75% hand stitched and each one is an original. The embroidered faces are made up as I go. Stuffing, batting and some lace trims and ribbons are new (because I couldn’t find enough that is old). In general bodies, dresses and the hair (drapery fringe) are cleaned vintage items collected from estate sales and antique stores. They will be available for purchase at craft shows in Florida beginning October 2015. They are not available for sale from my website at this time.  You can see them individually described on my Store/Angels page.

O’Leno State Park – High Springs Florida

We start summer 2015 travel with a stop at O’Leno State Park in north Florida near High Springs.  Four days of hiking and canoeing was really great. The weather cooperated. Our first trip here. I especially enjoyed visiting the antique shops in High Springs, Florida. We went on a Monday which was not a good idea; half of the shops were closed. I did make a few purchases of vintage linens: an embroidOleno State Park Florida-webered tablecloth that MAY not make it into anything else because I succeeded in getting the stains out … and, a lovely but damaged dresser scarf that WILL become an addition to a future pillow.  WORK: Started the process on this summer’s “angels from vintage.” I will have 24 of them. This is good highway work because they are small and do take lots and lots of work. Meanwhile, I will still take breaks to hike and canoe.  UPDATE: As of June 8, I am almost done with the “angels” and just have to name them and invent a label to attach to their dresses. Then pack away and start something else.
