Three blue pillows were added to the home decor lineup. The 14 inch square pillow covered is created from a popular turquoise hand dyed batik fabric, zippered, has self piping all around and the cover features a hand-crocheted vintage piece. The crocheted piece has been design quilted in place. This colorful piece matches a set of quilted placemats (less the doily).
Also pictured is a pair of matched pillow covers on 14″ and 12″ pillow forms. The hand embroidered vintage pieces were acquired in a local antique mall, then laundered to their absolute whiteness. The blue and white doilies are sewn to the face of blue gingham check fabric, piped with the same check and a hidden zippered added. Perfect character pieces for a blue and white room!
My stash of peach and red vintage pieces and fabrics is growing. I always gravitate to those colors when shopping vintage.
My stash of red gingham cotton has been sitting around awhile waiting to see where its home would be. This parrot comes along from an antique store in Arkansas and lands on a pillow edged in, of course, red gingham. To go with the pillow are quilted reversible placemats and hemmed cloth napkins.
Then, I stop by a lovely antique mall in Paris, Texas and find great pieces of vintage embroidered dresser scarves. The peach one was so nice that I decided in order to justify cutting it up, it had to be for something “special.” This 16″ square pillow cover has extra detail to frame the beautiful embroidery and a hidden zipper in the back making the cover removable. It is hand washable.
